As part of the Poudre School District, we strive to enrich our students’ classroom experiences through a broad base of knowledge, rich vocabulary, and integrated curriculum. Students focus on Language Arts, Mathematics, Geography, World History, American History, Science, Music, Art, Physical Education, and Technology.

Bethke fully implements the Core Knowledge curriculum in grades K–5. Focusing on 21st century higher level thinking skills, teachers integrate interactive technology into instruction on a daily basis. Multi-sensory phonics, small-group guided reading instruction, and Core Knowledge novel studies complete the reading instruction.

Everyday Math is used in all grades with grade acceleration in math in grades 3–5 for those who qualify. A reading specialist and gifted and talented teacher work with those requiring additional interventions.

Macmillan/McGraw-Hill's comprehensive reading/language arts program, Treasures, offers proven tools and strategies for helping teachers give students what they need to succeed. High-quality literature, coupled with explicit instruction and ample practice, insures all students have what they need to learn and grow as lifelong readers and writers.

Bethke has implemented the Core Knowledge Curriculum in grades K-5.  Developed by E.D. Hirsch, the Core Knowledge curriculum ensures every child receives a guaranteed and viable curriculum that is solid, sequenced, specific, and shared.  Integrating problem solving and critical thinking into each unit, energetic staff members work closely with students and families to monitor growth in all areas.  Students are engaged in content rich units that stimulate independent thought and inquiry.  Students show learning through a variety of methods including multimedia projects and presentations.

Parents will receive a Core map at the beginning of the year to follow as students work through the various units.
